Weetamoe

In 1932 my grandfather was on the afterguard of the J-boat Weetamoe, a contender for the America’s Cup. In early trIals Weetamoe was defeating Enterprise but as trails went on Enterprise improved to where at the end Enterprise was ahead by one race. 32 years later in 1964 the opposite happened. In early trails American Eagle was beating Constellation until my father took over the helm. Constellation ended up with the best record and went on to easily defend the Cup against England’s Sovereign. (Giclee print on canvas)
